Rooted in Generosity. Growing Through Community
More than 60 years ago, philanthropy helped plant the seed for Barton Memorial Hospital — which grew into what is now Barton Health. That same spirit of giving continues to inspire the Barton Health Foundation today.
Since our founding in 1990, the Barton Health Foundation has raised over $26 million to strengthen the health of our Lake Tahoe community. Donor generosity has made possible some of Barton’s most transformative health initiatives, including:
- Construction of the Robert Maloff Center, home to Barton Center for Orthopedics & Wellness
- Launching a Level III Trauma Center
- Expanding the Family Birthing Center
- Opening the Barton Community Health Center
- Construction of a helipad at Barton Memorial Hospital
- Direct financial support to community members impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Caldor Fire
